I think my theory is logical, but only if everyone is way off on Penn.

  2. In defense of the "Bradley Effect"

I've seen people claim that if it does come into play somehow, that is evidence of some latent racism or something. That is absolutely absurd. It should be seen as evidence of collective guilt and/or shame, in my opinion. White people say they voted or are going to vote for the black guy, then they either don't vote or go the other way. The only explanation for this is racism? Why would a racist claim to vote the other way???? Oh, right right, it's LATENT racism --the rhetorical kind. Because racism, isn't something anyone has ever been outspoken about. Racists are so ashamed of themselves that they lie about it to pollsters. Shame has a way of infecting one's worldview, methinks.

If the Bradley Effect does in fact exist, it just shows how sensitive the US is to racial issues (a good thing, most of the time) not racism. America wants to rectify it's past sins so badly that it's willing to ignore everything about someone, except for their race.

    Who is the racist again?

  4. "Their complete negligence is reserved, however,
For the hoped-for invasion, at which time the happy people
(Sniggering, ruddily naked, and shamelessly drunk)
Will stun the foe by their overwhelming submission,
Corrupt the generals, infiltrate the staff,
Usurp the throne, proclaim themselves to be sun-gods,
And bring about the collapse of the whole empire."

"We are the change we've been waiting for"

If you look at it that way I guess he was right.

I agree. I wish I could let myself think that it would all be over if Obama wins. The race baitors may calm down a bit...but I just don't see it. This country will forever carry that shame.

  5. I tried for two hours last night to embed that Richard Wilbur audio in a post... As soon as I figure it out, it will be done.

  6. I just hope that none of the networks decide to call any states before the fucking polls close in that state. I forget the station that did that with Florida last time.

  8. Electoral: Obama
    Popular: Obama
    Count: 286 to 252

Cautious estimate ... though it could very well be a second asshole-ripping night. I just have a hard time giving NC, VA, IN, FL and even OH to Obama so easily.
